Dear
Subscriber(s):
We have
several in our shuffleboard extended family
that appreciate all player's caring,
thoughts and prayers over the past months
and days. Keep those thoughts and/or prayers
coming...
GEORGE &
DONNA WILBER (MI SHUFFLERS & THE BOARD
TALK FOUNDERS)
REMINDER:
FUNDRAISER BENEFIT FOR GEORGE & DONNA -
DECEMBER 10th
(Updated
Message - 11/24/05): George Wilber informed us
that Donna has a new medical problem
(Thanksgiving Day) - she's been diagnosed with
shingles on her face and eyes are swollen shut
and bedridden for the past week, so they were
unable to have family over for Thanksgiving
because shingles (akin to chicken pox) can be
contagious. George may be taking Donna
for a second opinion soon to ensure it is
shingles if her condition does not improve
quickly (as it has been a week already).
DAVE &
RENA FLEMING (OK SHUFFLERS & FRIENDS TO
MANY SHUFFLEBOARD PLAYERS ACROSS THE COUNTRY)
For those that were not watching Good Morning
America today -- Dave & Rena Fleming
(Oklahoma Shufflers) were interviewed.
Unfortunately it was not about running the SW
Open tournament in Del City, Oklahoma or about
shuffleboard at all. They were featured today
on ABC Good Morning America as 26-year veteran
employees of General Motors whose GM plant is
reportedly one to close early next year and
included in the 30,000 layoffs planned and
announced yesterday. Please keep them in your
thoughts, as they are both working at General
Motors, recently built their dream home in
Moore, Oklahoma, and were shocked by this
layoff announcement.
Dave & Rena Fleming are on Good Morning
America today (November 22, 2006) - Links

It appears the OK layoffs are planned first
part of 2006 (another link indicating this OK
plant may be one of the early 2006 closures):

FLYNT
PRESTON (HOUSTON TX AREA SHUFFLER) - (Updated
Message - 11/23/05): The below notification of
Flynt Preston's hospitalization was sent out
in original note on November 22, 2005 at
7:30PM - We are sad to report that Flynt
Preston passed away shortly thereafter...
about 11:30PM. Memorial Service reportedly
will be held in his home town of Midland,
Texas (details of memorial service is not yet
known).
(Original
Message - 11/22/05): Flynt Preston of
Houston, Texas has been hospitalized for
almost two weeks with a variety of critical
medical conditions being diagnosed. He was on
temporary dialysis, but removed due to causing
blood pressure issues. He has moved from ICU
recently to a private room. His prognosis and
condition is reported as severe.
RONNIE
GAMBLE (OK SHUFFLER)
Ronnie Gamble, as many are already
aware, has had a multitude of strange
medical problems over the past year or so
with the most recent being lung tumors.
Joyce reported that the lung tumor biopsy
indicated benign tumors, but more testing is
going on to find out what is the type and
cause of these tumors. Joyce wrote us today
with below message: "Ronnie
is about the same. We still do not know a
thing. We still have several weeks before we
should know something. Keep the prayers
going, please."
GLENNA MAXCY
(DAUGHTER OF TOM & LYNDA FRENCH)
Glenna Maxcy, who resides in Menifee,
California with her husband, Keith, and son
A.J. (age 5) has been having a multitude of
medical problems at an early age... recently
going through a hip resurfacing operation
(which was successful - surgery was required
due to abnormally early age osteoarthritis
bone conditions) to now being diagnosed with a
brain tumor (details of brain tumor surgery,
options, & prognosis is still sketchy)
while she is still in recovery mode from the
prior hip surgery. Tom & Lynda French wish
to thank everyone who has been going through
this with them and hope everyone will continue
to keep Glenna in their thoughts and prayers.
Thanks
for keeping all concerned in your thoughts and
prayers.
