"Thoughts & Prayers Go Out to the Mako Family"
We are saddened to report ...
We (Tom & Lynda French) received a call from Frank Mako (TSA Director of Washington) that at approximately 4:30pm yesterday that Dino Mako (Frank's brother) lost his wife (Donna) and 17 year old daughter (Laura) and two of Laura's friends (one being her boyfriend) to a horrible Amtrak train crash near Castle Rock, Washington (very near their home).  Dino's family was returning from a trip over to/from Canada and were almost home when the accident occurred.

Below is a link to the article from Longview, Washington's Daily News (before name details were released): http://www.tdn.com/articles/2006/07/04/top_story/news01.txt

and a more recent news story which lists names and a few more details of the horrible accident:

Frank and his brother Dino are avid shuffleboard players that many of you know well - playing coast to coast for many years. Frank asked us to let the shuffleboard community know about this horrible accident.
