INFORMATIONAL - EMAIL DELIVERY PROBLEM: For anyone that has sent an email to Lynda French lpfrench@austin.rr.com
(webmaster & e-news publisher for both websites) from June 13th
thru June 25th, please resend the message. An Outlook Express
Maintenance Tool bug (using compress email tool) lost all messages that
were still in the inbox (not yet filed to individual folders) from June
13th thru June 25th. It appears that messages prior to June 13th were
not lost (but not absolutely certain about that). If you emailed any
important notices, upcoming events, tournament results, etc. and did
not get a response it is likely due to the email you was still in the
inbox (not yet filed to individual folders) when this Outlook Express
Tool error occurred. If in doubt, just resend any important emails that
may have been lost if you still have them in your mail "sent" folder or
send a new email.
PERSONALS
"Balboa Ron" Sweikert of Nevada,
a long-time shuffleboard player and prior The Board Talk monthly
reporter and supporter (had his own episode column for many years in
addition to contributing shuffleboard cartoons) passed away yesterday
at the age of 71 following a pacemaker heart implant a couple weeks
ago. Ron was diagnosed with a heart condition over 23 years when he
left his Chief Warrant Officer - Army Pilot position after the
diagnosis. He was an avid shuffleboard player and promoter before,
during, and after he left the Army. Some of his very close long-time
shuffleboard player friends included Al Stewart (deceased), Porter
White, Leroy Waggoner, Jolene Lembke -- just to name a few -- and he
will be greatly missed by all.
His funeral will be at the VA
Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada at 9:20am on July 5th. The family will
be providing more details (likely today). If you would like to be on a
private email list to receive further details (as known), email: lpfrench@austin.rr.com
In lieu of flowers, the family is
planning to setup a Ron Sweikert Memorial Shuffleboard Fund which be
used to support the promotion of shuffleboard , shuffleboard events,
and/or shuffleboard tournaments. The family will inform us of details
in the coming weeks on this plan and those interested may donate to
this fund once details are known and account is established (in lieu of
sending flowers). His sister, Marcy stated: "We know that Ron would
want a shuffleboard memorial fund versus flowers or Heart Foundation
donations, etc."
Gary Williams of D/FW, Texas,
youngest brother (age 54) to David Williams Sr and Bobby Williams
passed away Thursday morning following a car accident he had on his way
to work. The funeral services will be held at 2pm on Monday, July 3rd
at:
Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel & Cemetery, Ft. Worth, Texas (ph# 817-451-3333 for details)
If you wish to send condolences or cards to the Williams' family, send to:
Williams' Family, c/o Bobby Williams, 2145 Green Hill Circle, Ft. Worth, Texas 76112
