So, thought I'd drop in and say hello. My shuffleboard is located at Diamond & Denims in Liberty City just off of I-20. It has only been there for a little over a month. People are beginning to play and/or learning how to play. I need new blue and red score buttons and that is why I've been looking for a catalog. I might add the fact that I've only been playing for about 8 months and love it. That is why I bought my own shuffleboard. hee hee. It's an old board but serves the purpose. Maybe when I hit the lottery I'll buy a brand new one. |

Thank you for running Brian's article about his win to enter the Open in 1990. I wanted to take a minute to share with you -- I am Brian Walker's mother and am proud of what Brian was able to accomplish in 1990. You played the right song as Brian had more of a "Hard Days Night" than most people knew. His younger brother Tim was killed Feb. 18, 1990 and in spite of Brian's own grief and support for us (always trying to make us feel better), his desire to win took over. It was fantastic!! We went to Austin with Brian that year and really enjoyed the event. The shuffleboard family are a great group of folks that we now have the privilege of seeing from time to time and feel like part of the family. As you know, Brian and Ann even got married when there was a shuffleboard tournament going on!! And, by the way, thank you for running the story on their marriage as well. Your newsletter is great and I have your webpage marked under my favorites!! We are very proud of Ann and Brian and are definitely their "Fan Club"! We did not have anymore printed copies to mail and it was close to the deadline on getting them submitted, so I contacted a fellow rater from your area (Jim Manders) by email, and asked him if he could get one to you fast. He said he would. About two days later, your ratings came in the mail, so I assumed everything went okay. It makes our jobs easier when we have a list to refer too when new players come to tournaments or when players are trying to find a partner for handicap events. I also want to say we had a great time at the Houston Open, Ron got to play all the shuffleboard he wanted to play and I got to do all the shopping and sight-seeing I wanted to do. LIFE IS GREAT!!
